IJSLANDER SPECIFICATIONS Sustaining; because it can always be better IJslander is at the heart of the community. Our involvement is expressed by our products as well as our company policy. We regard sustainability as a process, so we prefer to talk about sustaining. New developments constantly follow one another and so there is always room for improvement. IJslander moves along with these developments. More than that, we ensure we are always one step ahead! Only then can we provide optimal service to our customers, end users and the environment.   Choice of material: stainless steel All products are made almost completely of 304 and 316 stainless steel. Stainless steel always remains attractive. And as the name implies, no unsightly rust stains! Vandalism doesn’t stand a chance. You can therefore enjoy an attractive product for a very long time. Welded joints The individual parts of our products are often welded together. We use two welding techniques: MIG/MAG welding for parts that are no longer seen after the product is installed. And then there is TIG welding for attractive, smooth connections such as for slides. Both techniques make our products very strong and extremely vandal-proof. For joints that cannot be welded we use special sturdy connections. Hygienic Stainless steel is a widely used material in hospital operating theatres. It is extremely hygienic as it does not attract dirt. This is one of the reasons that our products – also made of stainless steel – are so maintenance friendly. Innovative product development IJslander is constantly thinking of new systems and ways of improving our products. Just take for example the cables of the Citybox. They used to absorb almost 8000 impacts of 80 kg. The IJslander R&D department carried on testing until it was satisfied. And the result? Now the cable can withstand 58000 such impacts! This is thanks to the use of a double spring. A clever discovery of IJslander, which adds a lot of weight to the term hard-wearing.   [...] Read more...

RUSSELL PLAY SPECIFICATIONS Russell Play’s Amico, Fun4all, Metro Roundabout and Seesaw products carry a 30 year guarantee against corrosion and structural failure. All equipment is manufactured using the highest quality materials and utilising the very latest technology. The use of laser-cutting and CNC tooling ensures consistency of product and the highest quality finish. Russell Play offer Colourgalv as standard: a fully hot dip galvanized and powder coated finish for all our Amico, Fun4all, Metro Roundabout and Seesaw products. All metalwork is hot dip galvanized to BS EN ISO 1461 and 2178 and powder coated as a continuous process. Hot dip galvanizing is the most effective anti-corrosion protection system available for steel. Before galvanizing, all components are chemically treated to remove all paints, greases, varnishes, lacquers or other surface contaminants to ensure a resilient finish. Our Amico, Fun4all, Metro Roundabout and Seesaw products use a variety of tube sizes. Tube materials generally have a wall thickness of at least 3mm.   Colourgalv Marine Special coating for marine environments Colourgalv Marine is an innovative coating that can withstand complete immersion in seawater for up to 25 years. Colourgalv Marine is similar to standard Colourgalv in that it has both a hot-dip galvanized substrate and an electrostatically applied powder coat finish. The difference is the hydrophobic middle coat that prevents oxidisation of the zinc and thus keeps the powder top coat in tact, especially important if the product is in constant contact with salt spray or is submersed. Colourgalv Marine is available in the full Colourgalv range of colours and textures and is maintenance free for up to 25 years.         SILHOUETTE – URBAN PLAY SPECIFICATIONS The 304 Stainless steel that we use is polished to a very fine Ra value of 0.6 micron. This means that the products are not susceptible to corrosion. For sea side resorts however we recommend to use the marine grade Stainless steel 316. This is a more expensive option than the 304 but we can supply 316 if required. Most products are made of 89.9 x 3.05mm Stainless steel tubes. The Rings and Domino are made of 60.3 x 2.77mm Stainless steel. The Baubles are made of 3mm Mild steel and 2mm Stainless steel. The Island and Mercury have a minimum wall thickness of 4mm. Powder coated parts are hot dip galvanized to BS EN ISO 1461 and2178 and powder coated as a continuous process as standard to an approx thickness of 150 microns. All hot dipped galvanized components are then powder coated to an approximate thickness of 150 microns. This finish is guaranteed for 20 years. [...] Read more...
IMAGINATION PLAY INDOOR SPECIFICATIONS All Imagination Play indoor playground structures since April 2013 are supplied using 48.3mm steel diameter with 3.25mm steel wall thickness and European TUV certified tube clamps to adhere to AS3533.4.2 – April 2013       INDOOR PLAYGROUND CLAMPING THE TUBE CLAMP FITTING This simple but effective engineering principle of the tube clamp fitting is the foundation of the most versitile pipe connection system available in the world for indoor playground structures. There are many variations of fitting to suit a wide range of applications, thus providing the versatility to achieve virtually any structural configuration.Tube clamp fittings are iron castings manufactured to the requirements of ASTM A47-77-32510. A range of fittings to suit eight sizes of pipe is available. Hex set screwns firmly lock the pipe into the fitting.Set screws are manufactured in case hardened steel and are protected against corrosion.A tube clamp fitting (size 5 to 9) can support an axial load of *2000 lbs. per set screw with the set screw tightened to a torque of 29 lbs./ft. This is normally obtained when the set screw is fully tightened using a ratchet wrench.Steel pipe is an inherintly efficient structual component. It’s strong and has no sharp corners. It can be obtained in a wide range of sizes and thicknesses. and is freely available worldwide. The difficulty arises in joining pipe to form structures. Threaded pipe must be supplied in set lengths and is therefore relatively expensive and inflexible in application. The answer is provided by the tube clamp fitting that has now become the basis of a rigid tubular construction system proven world wide. The underlying principle is simple but highly effective for an easy slip-on fitting to create any indoor playground structure.     THE IMAGINATION PLAY INDOOR PLAYGROUND STANDARD All components and designs of our indoor range meet or exceed current Australian Standards AS3533.4.2-2013. Benefit: All care is taken to adhere to all relevant and current Australian Safety Standards so that our indoor play equipment is safe for children to use. Imagination Play  has a full-time certified indoor Playground Safety Inspector (all levels 1, 2 & 3) and Playground Auditor in house. Our indoor steel framing wall thickness is 3.25mm to not only meet but exceed AS3533.4.2-2013 new structural integrity rulings. Benefit: Imagination Play uses 3.25mm wall thickness steel framing throughout our entire indoor play equipment structures. This is generally 33% thicker than our competitors and fully meets and exceeds AS3533.4.2-2013 new structural integrity rulings. Rest assured, our indoor playground steel framing is above and beyond the Australian Safety Standards requirements, giving you peace of mind that our indoor structures are safe and secure. We only use the proven and reliable European  TUV certified structural integrity certificates. Benefit: Generally, our competitors are using un-tested and uncertified indoor clamp systems that do not comply with AS3533.4.2-2013 new structural integrity rulings. Large 1.48m2 decks for better flow of children and more space to freely enjoy the indoor structure. Benefit: Larger equipment means more bang for your buck! It also means wider areas for children to move through which can reduce collisions and alleviates congestion. Our Tuff Skin foam pads last twice as long as regular foam and minimizes vandalism due to a protective layer over the foam reducing peeling and fading. Benefit: Tuff Skin foam pads have a tough layer of PVC covering the foam that prevents children from biting and picking at the foam pads. Colours also look much better and stay much brighter for a lot longer, reducing replacement costs. Our indoor playground nets are hand stitched to the frame work. Benefit: Imagination Play certified installers strictly hand stitch every grid of the safety netting directly to the steel frame work. Many of our competitors will save on labour costs by using cable ties to affix the netting to the frame work. Through our in house testing, we have found this cable tying method to consistently fail AS3533.4.2-2013 test methods. Feel free to watch our video below explaining more about this. Follow up service and maintenance service. Benefit: Your mind is at ease knowing that help is just a phone call away. We understand that indoor play centres need to be functional and operational at all times, and we are here to help keep you up and running. We provide advice, full maintenance services and part replacements. We won’t leave you stranded!       [...] Read more...

This allows for our play units to be much safer by providing more circulation and equipment interaction space for it’s users. Our Playdium system utilises a standardised modular system to maximise design possibilities while simplifying the installation process reducing both time and cost.   POWDER COATED FOR A STRONGER DURABLE SURFACE All Playdium series steel components (excluding the stainless steel fittings) are powder coated and baked at 220OC not the normal 180OC. This ensures a stronger durable surface to our steel components, with an excellent rate of colour retention and additional protection against corrosion.             STRONG LONG LASTING ROPE The rope elements in our Playdium range feature a steel reinforced Polypropylene multicore rope design that offers strong, long lasting durability and colour-fastness to withstand UV degradation.            CUSTOMISED HDPE PLASTIC PANELS TO ADD YOUR PERSONAL TOUCH The use of HDPE extruded plastic panels gives the opportunity to customise Playdium combination units. A range of interactive panels with the option to add your own personal touch.           300 GRADE STEEL WITH RUBBER COATING FOR STRENGTH AND PROTECTION All Playdium decks and stairs are constructed from 300 Grade Steel with additional support framework weighing in at nearly 60 kilos each. This is coated in a long lasting heavy duty rubber coating designed to minimise rust and provide many years of continuous use.           ROUND CLAMPS AND POSTS FOR SUPERIOR LOOK AND PERFORMANCE 114mm diameter round posts and alloy clamps give a premium look whilst providing design aesthetics. Individual clamps give flexibility to adjust heights of overhead elements – such as monkey bars.           The design above is 35% larger in area size compared to the design on the left. Almost all commercial play systems are modular. They have a common grid size usually the same as the square platform size. The components used in the design will be a multiple of the systems grid size.   For example; An overhead ring trek will usually be two or three standard grid sizes long by one grid size wide as shown in both of these diagrams above marked with an asterisk. All major suppliers of commercial play systems use a 1.0m standard grid size bar one – Imagination Play.   Imagination Plays standard grid size is 1.16m x 1.16m. The same style ring trek in the above diagram on the right is 2.32m long X 1.16m wide, making our system 35% larger than all of our major competitors. Take the time to compare prices and consider that we are offering you 35% more playground equipment for comparable designs.         Colour Options         HIGH-DENSITY POLYETHYLENE (HDPE) HDPE is used in most interactive panels with detailed embossed graphics and is available in these 14 colours • RED/WHITE • BROWN/WHITE • BLUE/WHITE • GREEN/WHITE • TAN/BLACK • ORANGE/BLACK • YELLOW/BLACK • GREEN • PURPLE • RED • SKY BLUE • YELLOW • BLACK • TAN                 LOW-DENSITY POLYETHYLENE (LDPE) LDPE is used in all rotomoulded components and is available in these 12 colours • BLUE • SKY BLUE • TEAL • GREEN • LIME GREEN • YELLOW • ORANGE • RED • TAN • BROWN • PURPLE • MAGENTA                   THERMOPLASTIC POLYESTER POWDER COATING The powder coating is available in these 13 colours • RED • ORANGE • YELLOW • BROWN • GREEN • LIME • TEAL • BLUE • PURPLE • BLACK • SILVER • TAN • WHITE                 POLYESTER BRAIDED CARBON STEEL ROPE The polyester braided Carbon Steel Rope is available in these 2 colours • RED • BLACK [...] Read more...

Durable and quiet sports equipment! The Citybox is incredibly popular with the youth. You can play a friendly game of soccer or basketball in it. It’s not only the local youngsters who really enjoy using the Citybox. Schools in the neighbourhood use it for their sports days and PE lessons. IJslander has patented the steel cables that ensure that the Cityboxes and Backstops are very quiet. Due to the innovative construction they have a longer life, are vandal-proof and sustain minimal wear and tear. The flexibility of the cables is made possible by an inventive assembly. The cable is strung between the tubes with two push springs, one at the top and one at the bottom. The push springs are concealed within the tubes, where it is protected from weather and vandal influence. The spring is specially constructed for long and high frequency use of heavy load. Several construction models are protected by a patent, therefore IJslander is the only supplier of this production. The Backstop and Citybox do not invite vandalism because of the transparent design. There is not enough surface for graffiti and the cables are slippery and vertically placed therefore hard to climb. The cables are too flexible to break and cannot deform easily. The entire construction is made of stainless steel hence the longer life. Every cable is handmade as are all the products IJslander produces. This ensures the expected high quality and service. When a cable does malfunction, it can simply be replaced without having to deconstruct the entire fence. This saves material, labour and therefore costs. The creation of the Citybox is the result of an innovative process. IJslander listens carefully to the wishes of the youth, government and the city councils in order to come up with a product that meets these wishes each and every time.   CLICK HERE TO SEE THE FULL RANGE AND PRICES   Or check out our Citybox catalogue below. NAME: Citybox sports equipment ‘Durable and quiet stainless steel equipment’ DESCRIPTION: The Citybox is incredibly popular with the youth. You can play a friendly game of soccer or basketball in it. It’s not only the local youngsters who really enjoy using the Citybox. Schools in the neighbourhood use it for their sports days and PE lessons. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD           Street sports is a growing trend in Australia; more and more young people are finding ways to play football, soccer and basketball in towns and cities. Whether they’re having a small kick-about with friends or playing an exciting basketball match, young people need a safe place to play. To limit any nuisance to the neighbourhood, IJslander has developed a unique stainless steel sports cage: the Citybox. Our sports cage offers many benefits. One benefit is the transparent design which uses thin cables and bars. Because of this, lines of sight remain open, and the Citybox blends seamlessly into any environment. The transparent design ensures that the views of local residents are not negatively affected. The concept for a new residential area, city square or park is elaborated, and the designer searches for a sports cage that fits perfectly within their design. The Citybox by IJslander is an excellent choice. Our stainless steel sports cage can be manufactured to your own custom specification. For instance, the designer can decide on the shape (round, rectangular, oval), size, colour, appearance (shape of the vertical elements, etc.) and surface. Our team of engineers will then transform your stylish concept into your unique Citybox. There’s nothing more annoying that a sports cage where the ball thuds and rattles against the fencing. Or where the noise is made worse by the reverberations of the materials. As noise is considered the greatest source of annoyance in neighbourhoods, IJslander has identified the wishes of users, local residents and local authorities; and based on these wishes, we have developed the low-noise Citybox. Our Citybox uses special cables which absorb the energy of the ball and dissipate it through the rest of the construction to reduce noise.   Vandalised sports equipment in public spaces is a nightmare for local authorities, residents and its users. It runs down the neighbourhood, kids can no longer play sports, an activity area becomes a hangout, and it becomes an expensive cost item for owners. The transparent design of the Citybox does not invite vandalism because the thin, vertical cables mean vandals cannot climb it and there is no surface for graffiti. What’s more, the cables are too flexible to break or bend. More and more local authorities and other owners of public spaces are having to find cost savings in their maintenance budgets. This is something that IJslander has taken into account during the design process of the transparent, low-noise, vandal-resistant Citybox. Each cable in our sports cage is hand-made and of high quality. In the event that a cable becomes defective, it can easily be replaced on site without having to dismantle the entire construction. Stainless steel is also a durable material, making the Citybox resilient to all weather types, so that it continues to look good throughout its long life. The combination of durable stainless steel and a thorough production process means that Imagination Play installations are of high quality and have a long lifespan. We regularly test our products to ensure this remains the case and to make improvements. We do this with the Citybox cables too. The speed and the weight of a ball hitting the cables is simulated using a pneumatic hammer linked to a computer and timer. On first testing, the cable failed after what we perceived to be too short a time. The cables were redesigned and are now strong enough to last for years. The use of durable stainless steel makes the Citybox sustainable, but IJslander also operates as a sustainable business. Our engineers only develop products that can be dismantled and recycled. The benefit of this is that all materials are recyclable and parts can be replaced on site rather than the entire installation. This is also true of the Citybox cables, which can be replaced individually. IJslander also uses as much recycled steel as possible. This leads to energy savings and a reduction in CO2 emissions.
