PUSH UP BAR

The Push Up Bar is an ideal activity to build strength in the chest, tricep and shoulder muscles. It also helps strengthen your core during the exercise.

Instructions

  1. Stretch and Warm-up for 5 minutes prior to any exercise.
  2. Kneel down and place hands onto bar. Grasp firmly and stretch legs out slowly, so that your back is straight and chest is just above bar.
  3. Hands should be shoulder width apart to target the chest muscles. To target triceps, move your hands close together.
  4. Push your body upwards and away from the bar in a slow and controlled movement. Breathe out as you push up. Stop the push up when your elbows lock.
  5. Keeping your back straight, breathe in as you lower your body towards the bar in a slow and controlled motion. Stop when your chest is just above the bar.
  6. Always keep your back straight and your head down to avoid injury and to keep good form.
  7. Stretch appropriate muscles to ensure recovery to resting position and prevent soreness.

Age Range: 12 Yrs old and up (Children should be supervised by an adult).
