SIT UP BENCH

The Sit-Up is an ideal activity to build strength in the abdominal muscles.

Benefits

  • Build strength in abdomen.
  • Ability to tone and develop core muscle groups in the abdomen, providing support and balance to the entire body.

Instructions

  1. Stretch and Warm-up for 5 minutes prior to any exercise.
  2. Lay down on bench and place feet on foot-pads, locking them into place with the stabiliser bar at your shins.
  3. Place hands behind neck (do not pull on neck), or cross arms over chest with hands touching opposite shoulder.
  4. This exercise should replicate a horse-riding motion, with a smooth and even pace.
  5. Return to lying position at the same pace as sitting up.
  6. Lift and lower body at a smooth and steady pace.
  7. Remember to breathe in on your way up and out on your way down, at a smooth and even rate.
  8. Stretch appropriate muscles to ensure recovery to resting position and prevent soreness.

Age Range: 12 Yrs old and up (Children should be supervised by an adult).
